Course description
This is a job-ready qualification, based on National Occupational Standards (NOS), which will provide the knowledge, understanding and skills required to work competently as a beauty therapist. It also provides a sound platform into further training at Level 4 Salon Management.
The Level 3 Diploma for the Advanced Beauty Therapist is a newly created qualification based on employer needs and has been designed by employers.
An advanced beauty therapist will design and implement bespoke treatment plans that may include manual therapies such as advanced massage techniques and technical therapies such as face and body electrical treatments to meet and manage client needs and expectations. They will also implement organisational operations such as salon business systems and processes and data to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, contribute to financial the effectiveness of the business, maintaining and maximising resources; people, equipment and consumables.
In their daily work, an advanced beauty therapist interacts with a number of internal and external representatives building exemplary relationships based on trust with clients, colleagues and organisations.
An employee in this occupation will be responsible for working independently delivering treatments in a private, secure and safe environment. An advanced beauty therapist will also when required, supervise others to support team and business growth.
Taught by IBHA's excellent tutors, and with the support of your salon mentor in a real working environment, you will obtain a high degree of commerciality and skills which will increase your employability. Students of this course can to go on to further study in beauty therapy.
Entry requirements
Applicants need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week within a hair salon and must be 16 or over. We work with a number of employers within the industry and can help you to find a placement if required. On application you will be invited for an interview.
